Model of Insulator Cleaner Robot

It is vital to monitor and maintain the conditions of insulators in power grids, especially in polluted areas. Conventional methods of cleaning and repairing insulators include dismount of insulator, manual on-site cleaning, and water jet using helicopters, all of which have low efficiency, high cost, and cause extensive line shutdown.

 Implementation of robots not only decreases the risk, but also reduces the costs, increases cleaning quality, and reduces shutdown periods. A 400kV line can be neutralized and simultaneously cleaned by a robot to reduce downtimes

An insulator Cleaner Robot is designed to overcome the mentioned challenge along with a cable walker robot to fully automate the cleaning process of insulators
